I received this in my email inbox today and think it is something that should be shared. I am a big fan of recycling and think that any time someone offers you an incentive it is not a bad thing:

The weather right now doesn't having many of us yearning to get out on the water, but it does have the Benewah County Sheriff's Office issuing a no wake zone. It's issued a no wake on the St. Joe and St. Maries River because of high waters.

There's been flooding all over Idaho recently, but it's not the only state experiencing disaster. Flooding is sweeping through Montana closing roads and isolating communities. There's flood warnings from Great Falls down to Dillon, a flood advisory for Kalispell, up to Eureka and flood watches for many counties in between. The Great Falls Tribune has a slide show of over 50 photos showcasing the disaster in the area. It includes everything from washed out roads to rushing water through homes and camp sites.

Flooding Puts Damper On Memorial Day Weekend

Several popular campgrounds in North Idaho will be closed over Memorial Day weekend because of flooding and a lingering snow pack.

The Idaho Panhandle National Forest said this year half a dozen campgrounds will be closed until further notice.

In some places, there is still 10 to 15 feet of snow at the entrance of the campsites, making it impossible to get in.

Mines Fined for Clean Water Violations

The owner of the Coeur and Galena Mines agreed to pay the EPA $87,000 in penalties to settle Clean Water Act violations. Director of the EPA's Office of Compliance and Enforcement in Seattle says discharge violations in the Silver Valley are especially troubling.

The South Fork Coeur d'Alene River and its tributary streams are struggling to recover from a century of mine waste discharge," Kowalski said.

But, if you're headed to Killarney Lake in North Idaho you will need to use another boat launch for spring and summertime fun. 

The Killarney Lake Boat Launch on Killarney Lake, 20 miles east of Coeur d'Alene near Rose Lake, is closed to the public for repairs and rennovations.

The Bureau of Land Management said the new boat launch will feature a concrete ramp.

Although, repairs can't be made until the water is at a low levels which most likely won't be until next winter.
