Pirates Spotted on Lake Coeur d'Alene

Pirates have been spotted on Lake Coeur d'Alene. The popular pirate themed boat cruise for families is back for a second summer. According to a Coeur d'Alene Resort press release the 90 minute Pirates of the Coeur d'Alene cruises depart from Independence Point west of the Coeur d'Alene Resort at 1pm and 3:30pm daily until Labor Day. The interactive play stars a rogue captain, a bumbling crew and a search for treasure. This year's performance features a new storyline, new songs and dances and some new characters. Route of the Hiawatha Opens Saturday!

Pump up the bike tires and grab your helmet - one of the Inland Northwest's favorite trail rides, the Route of the Hiawatha, opens Saturday!

The June 11th opening actually marks a delay in the trail's typical season. The route usually opens from May to September, but the cool spring and heavy snowfall delayed the opening. Crews from Lookout Pass, which operates the trail, have been clearing the snow from the trailhead's highest peak to get ready for this weekend.

Brad Conner Memorial Golf Tourney Set For July 9

A memorial golf tourney, held in memory of a Special Forces soldier from Coeur d'Alene killed in Iraq, has been slated for July 9 at the Galena Ridge Golf Course.

The golf tourney is in memory of Army Sergeant Major Bradly Conner, who was serving with the 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group when he was killed in action on May 9, 2007 in Iraq.
